John Deere photo as promised!

I will have to say this was probably the hardest cupcake cake I've done. If I were to do this another time, I would probably make the white and yellow (besides the wheels) out of fondant. It was really hard to make that icing smooth especially since it wasn't a smooth surface. This was for a wedding reception. It matched their decorations perfectly - burlap and lace in a barn with cowboy boots...again...why didn't Pinterest exist when I got married??

I'm a slacker....

So, my last post was in October....I'm going to post pictures of all my cupcakes since then.

Gender Reveal - It's a Boy
I piped in blue icing in the center. It was hard keeping the secret from everyone!

It's Wedding Season!

Summertime Pool Party

The Pool Party cupcakes are probably my favorite, but I do enjoy making the wedding dresses. For the Pool Party cupcakes, I put a teddy graham in a gummie LifeSaver. I made light blue icing and streaked blue food coloring in the piping bag before I put the icing in to make the streaking.

Stay tuned...this weekend I'm making a John Deere tractor cupcake cake. I'm really excited! I think it will turn out really cute! Hopefully, I will post pictures this weekend.

Spicy Pumpkin Wedding

Today, I got to make cupcakes for a wedding. It was a pretty outdoor fall wedding. I made spicy pumpkin cupcakes with caramel icing. Josh says they are his favorite so far (besides the mocha ones). I think they turned out great. I used 2 liners. One has small pumpkins on it and the other is plaid in fall colors. They looked really cute with her cupcake stands. The stands are pieces of wood or branches with burlap and lace platform. I'm sad Pinterest didn't exist when I got married.

The Very Hungry Caterpillar

It has been a while since my last post. I've made a lot of cupcakes, but nothing fancy. Today, I'm sharing my favorite cupcakes I've made thus far...The Very Hungry Caterpillar! I think it turned out super cute. I normally don't do cakes, but the head of the caterpillar was small. I'm always nervous about icing big cakes. I even loved the different shades of green icing on the body.

You Could Not, Would Not Want to Miss a Celebration Like This!

How convenient that I get to make Dr. Seuss cupcakes...

Compared to some other cupcakes these were sort of hard. It wasn't hard to assemble them, but it was difficult to get them to stand up straight and not get red dye from the icing onto the white marshmallow. Plus, the hat made them really tall so they couldn't be assembled until they were out of the box ready to serve.

Long Time, No Post

Even though I haven't posted pics of my cupcakes in a long time, I have made quite a few. Some people have asked me about my blog. Since I gave them the address, I figured I should get back to posting.
